Sierra County is rich with beauty, natural resources and friendly people.  Get hooked and enjoy the many fishing spots in Sierra County.  Enjoy the outdoors in the many campgrounds we have to offer.  Over 50 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, over 2,633 miles that run from the California/Mexico to the Washington/Canadian border, pass through Sierra County.  The Sierra Valley, the largest alpine valley in North America, is a birdwatcher’s paradise.  For those who enjoy winter sports, there are miles of groomed trails that offer fantastic cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and snow shoeing.  The Downieville Classic is an annual event which draws biking enthusiasts from all around the world.  The race features a 29-mile cross-country race and a 15-mile downhill race.
